Inspiration behind LUCAS COFFEE
Harakeke used to make traditional Maori clothes and daily necessities, is also called flax.
Daniel Lucas was a Flax-Trader who traded fibers made from the leaves. Flax fibers were transported to
Auckland by boat.
He owned the Okahukura area of Auckland's North Shore and it was named after him in 1845 as Lucas Creek.
Then in 1890, the name was changed to Albany again to the present day.
Lucas Coffee roasts only high-grade specialty coffees began in Lucas Creek, which flows
through Albany Village.
Guide for coffee lovers - Whole Bean VS Ground Coffee
We will be only sold as unground whole beans for Single Origin coffees because ground coffee is oxidized rapidly.
It is difficult to retain the original taste and aroma of coffee for a long time, even if it is fresh
immediately after roasting.
It is for the same reason that we collect the quantity ordered during the week and roast it and send
it to you on Tuesday to Thursday of the following week under the optimal conditions.
We will try our best to meet you with fresher coffee. Thank you very much.
